Wonderful world in the Work Place

Five days was what it took for me to realise what a wonderful world there is in the work place. My experience has been great, my colleagues were incredible people. I’d like to thank Charlotte Slark for guiding me throughout this experience, Alison Crook for her insightful and interesting conversations, Tony Silver for being open and fun to talk to, Becky Duncan for being such an easy to talk to person and having a great personality, and lastly Fiona Jones which I’ve met later on my journey, she was a warm person that loves listening to people, and for that I’d like to thank her as well.
Although five days is not a long time to work, I feel that I have learned a lot in my time. I have done work on computers, such as “tech check” which consisted of updating the windows software on several laptops as well as updating windows defender to ensure the laptops are clean and run fast ready for the next person to use, also clearing browser history and outdated contents of the laptops. Besides that, I have also worked on the Berkshire Apprenticeship website and changed the layout of some pages, texts and images to ensure the website is improved, and looks better and ready for the publication.
The fact that I got to play around and modify the Berkshire Apprenticeship website gives me an advantage in my future encounters with editing websites and improving them. I have also come across difficulties when for example, trying to make a hyperlink from the GoDaddy website open in a new tab when the website itself did not allow me to do it. I had to carry out my own research and try to find solutions on how I could get around the problem, and this will help me in the future as well for when I could get stuck in a situation when editing websites, getting different errors and generally managing a computer.
Being around new people has given me a confidence boost, getting used to having people close to you all day would definitely develop you into a new and better person and make you more extrovert as it has done to me.
Overall it was an amazing experience, I’m thankful to my college and to Fiona to choose me to be a part of this journey, and I would recommend Slough Aspire to every other student that would wish to do work experience in the future.
Again, I would like to thank Fiona Jones, Charlotte Slark, Becky Duncan and Tony Silver for being helpful and informative as well as amazing people to be around.
