Taking place on Wednesday 5th & Thursday 6th February 2020 at Lynch Hill Enterprise Academy, the Slough Aspire Careers Event offers an excellent opportunity for local schools, young people and their parents to hear first-hand about the many career paths open to them. It provides a vast pool of ideas, information and advice from local employers, training and education providers and specialist advisers. 
 
Welcoming 2,000 students over the 2 days, this vital event for young people in Slough, raises awareness of career opportunities and promotes the employability skills that employers and the local economy need to achieve growth. Now in its 7th year, the event has gone from strength to strength with all 16 local secondary schools attending this year. 
 
Over 70 business and educational exhibitors will be taking part in the Slough Aspire Careers Event in 2020 including SEGRO Plc, GlaxoSmithKline, Mars Wrigley, NHS, British Airways, Morgan Sindall, Resource Productions, Heathrow Windsor Marriott and UCB. Fiona Jones, Chief Executive of Slough Aspire CIC who have been the headline sponsor of the event since 2013 said; “Guaranteeing young people in Slough are able to access careers advice direct from employers is essential to their future success and we’re delighted to be supporting this fantastic event again this year. Bringing pupils teachers, parents, and employers together at this event ensures that the young people of Slough can develop the skills needed by business now and in the future; assuring the Town’s reputation as a powerhouse of economic growth and productivity.” 
 
This year we’re excited to be offering an open session for parents on Wednesday 5th February 2020 between 3.30pm and 5pm, where parents will have the opportunity to visit the exhibiting employers between 3.30pm and 4.30pm After which will be a dedicated Parents Information, Advice & Guidance workshop, featuring a Pathways Presentation covering routes to employment including the new T-Levels, Apprenticeships and higher education as well as a Question & Answer panel with local employers.
