Honoured to work with Slough Aspire
Posted on 9th May 2016 at 13:56
This week I was honoured to work with Slough Aspire for my work experience. I gained a really good insight of working life and worked to deadlines which I am used to as it is similar on my IT course completing documents/assignments and further tasks. The staff I met at Aspire were real down to earth people who advised me and pushed me to go further in what I wanted to achieve. I started on Tuesday 3rd May 2016 and was greeted by Fiona Jones, Chief Executive. She was extremely friendly and approachable and introduced me to the team. They were very respectful and helpful on my first day and throughout the week. I would like to thank Sam Biggs and Andrea Hurman.
I was set various tasks which involved the use of my key IT skills, which was really good because I could get the work done on time without struggling to use the PC. I was introduced to an application which is hosted online called Dotmailer, something I have never used or heard of before. I was given a list of customers and created new folders with their information on.
I was also involved in a training session with Ann Naylor an Internet Consultant using a new totally designed website for the company. Ann was a very respectful person and very understanding and clear when we were in training and covered things that may help me in the future. The training session finished really fast but learnt a lot. I also worked with Sam with his Tech Check, seeing the AV layout and updating the systems and applications on the Toshiba laptops, this was very good because I like updating devices just so it response on the operating system is faster and more responsive.
At the end of the week I met with Fiona to discuss the week and talked of what I had enjoyed.
I am going to miss being in the working environment and my new work colleagues who help me with the work and giving me advice.
Once again thankyou Slough Aspire team, Fiona Jones, Sam Biggs and Andrea Hurman. Very down to earth people and keep doing what you guys are going keep it up it’s been a pleasure working for you guys.
